Some "bunny" Loves Me

Emily relishes her role as "big sister" in our family to Kate and Caroline.  She has a servants heart and is always looking for a chance to help out with her little sisters.  Yesterday, when she came home from school, she spent over an hour sitting with Kate making a pair of bunny ears for her to wear during a play they were going to put on for us.
We have been talking a lot over the past week about our model for how we are to love others both in our family and outside of our family.  We know no greater love than that of God.  He loved us enough to send his only son to not only to be a model for how we are to live our life and interact with others, but to die for our sins so that we can become apart of God's family and live forever with him.  I was recently listening to a message by Andy Stanley were he said that the foundation for love is to make love a verb.  Jesus commands us to "love one another," in John 13:34.  In order to feel love, you have to do love.  Put others first, before yourself, your wants, and your needs.  Treat others as if they are more important than you.  This is really hard!  Our culture tells us the exact opposite.  This is an area I have to continually come to God in prayer over.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.  Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.  In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus."
Ephesians 3-5
