Halloween 2012

Well, Halloween is a bit of a downer here.
These poor little boys have the stomach flu.
What a day to end up sick.

So....only the girls went out trick-or-treating in downtown Watkinsville and we have promised the little boys we will have our own Halloween celebration this week.
At first, Caroline was not very happy about being a butterfly.
But, she slowly warmed up to the idea.
Especially when we spoke her love language.....time spent outside!
Here is our bat

We are thankful that our Dad was able to come home early from work today to take the girls out
trick-or-treating.  We hope our little guys will be feeling better tomorrow and we pray that the rest of our family remains healthy.

Happy Halloween....A Sneak Peek

This is Luke's first Halloween.
He just found out that he doesn't get to eat any candy this year!
Maybe next year buddy!
Check back tomorrow for pictures of our Trick-or-Treaters.

Luke is 5 Months Old

+-
Luke, you will be five months old tomorrow.  Your personality is really starting to come to life.  You are talking all the time and love to hear your voice, especially when you yell!  I think you are the cutest little guy around and love to see the new things you are learning to do and enjoy each day.
You are wearing 3-6 months clothes.
You are in size 2 pampers swaddlers.
You are still nursing, with the occasional bottle when we go out.
Your favorite thing to do is stand up holding Mommy or Daddy's hands.
You also love to chew on your hands and fingers.
You still sleep best when you are swaddled and have slept a few nights in your big crib.  But, most of the time you still sleep in the pack-and-play in Mommy's room.
Nana bought you a mirror for the car and you seem to be liking your carseat better.

As you can see from most of the pictures, you are quite a serious little guy.  You save your smiles for a very special occasion.  You have started to laugh especially when we are putting on and taking off your clothes.  You must be ticklish!

God knew exactly what he was doing when he created you

Precious Father, I pray that Luke would put his trust in you and never be shaken.  That you would cause Luke to follow you, and make him a fisher of people.  That you would show Luke how to use his gifts and talents wisely, being faithful with the abilities you have given him.  Let him grow to serve others in love.  Fill him with your Holy Spirit, so that he might bear the Spirit's fruits.  Father, watch over Luke's life.  Do not slumber or sleep, but keep him from harm.  Place your hand upon Luke so that wherever he goes and whatever he does, he will be accompanied by your presence.  Let Luke love his siblings and be devoted to them in brotherly love.  Father, I pray that you would fulfill your purpose for Luke; do not abandon the works of your hands.  Let Luke be glad for all you are planning for him.  Let him be patient in trouble and come to you in prayer always.
Father, thank you for entrusting the awesome responsibility of raising Luke to love you and live his life according to your will to Brett and I.  May we always come to you in prayer for him.  I pray that we will be joyful in our parenting.
In the name of your son, Jesus
Amen

Today was Nick's middle school football team championship.  His team was undefeated coming into today's game against their rival, Malcom Bridge Middle School.
The final score with Oconee County Middle School on top 35 to 16.
Here is our Nick in action!

It was a fantastic season for the Braves.  Nick enjoyed playing and we are very proud of him.

Saturday Happenings

Today our boys went to the Clemson/Virginia Tech football game.  We enjoyed a day at home with a few special things!  Emily invited her friend to spend the day with us.  We enjoyed a picnic lunch watching Madagascar 3.

Our poor little guy is under the weather.  He came down with his first cold, so we kept him in his warm jammies for the day.  He really just wants to be held, so sitting in his highchair while I got lunch ready and the movie started was not on his list of favorite activities!

After our movie, we made cutout cookies and decorated them with yummy frosting and Halloween sprinkles.

I've Been in Pre-K for 50 Days!

Today Kate celebrated the 50th day of school.
Her school was celebrating this milestone with a 50's party!
I can't wait to hear all about her day!
This age is such a fun time.  She is a sponge for learning.  She loves to sing and dance and is always singing songs in the backseat as we drive to and from school.
I pray that she continues to live her life with such joy.  To always look for the little things to celebrate.

I found this on pinterest- taken from Ambermaybe.com
