Thankful for the Small Moments

Homeschooling can be hard.  The day in and day out routine of reading, writing, grammar, spelling, math, science and history can wear on any family as the days get colder.  It is important to find and thank God for the small moments that make this journey the blessing that it is.

Sweet sibling moments
Thanking God for the blessing that our children learn together
That our oldest loves our youngest with a patient heart.
That our children are learning their best friends reside within these walls.

For freedom in learning.
That time permits endless creativity.
That my children are able to grow and develop what they really love.

Honestly, it has been one of those weeks.  Most of the kids have been fighting colds.  The days seem long when the weather is cold and the kids are cranky.  I am thankful for God's grace this week.  His gentle nudge to look through the clouds and see his blessings.

"And they were to stand every morning, thanking and praising the Lord, and likewise at evening."

Happy Birthday Dad

The gang minus Jake, who was at football, celebrating their Dad!

An unassuming 40th birthday celebration for the one person in our family who serves the most and asks for the least in return.  We hope he felt loved and celebrated on his special day!

Celebrating Great Grandma

Our children were blessed to be loved by Brett's grandma.  It is special to have a great grandma!  Our children had the chance to grow up for several years living next door to their great grandma. She was a sweet lady and we loved her.
She recently passed away after living 90 full years.  We journeyed to Florida to celebrate her life with our family.
Aunt Monica is dearly loved by these little girls

Uncle Casey and Emily were goofing around

Grandma and Grandpa got in on the picture taking action
Our family is blessed with wonderful family who truly care about us.  It was a short trip, but a good one!  I am grateful that our children knew and loved their great grandma.

Fall Soccer

Matt moved up this season to 10U.  This was his first season playing on a full soccer field.  He learned how much stamina is needed to play a full soccer game on a larger field this season.  We are looking forward to seeing his growth in the spring season.

Emily's team played all the way through to the championship round and won.  She had excellent coaches this season and learned to be much more aggressive.  They scored her first goal this season, but continues to love playing the defensive positions.
