We left Marco Island Friday afternoon due to this......rain!

Just before Tampa, we entered another rain tunnel!
Finally, we left the rain behind us and finished up our drive home with clear skies.
I took this picture and texted it to my friend as we breezed by our former exit from our days of living in Groveland. It would have been great to see my friends, but this trip didn't allow any extra time for stopping.
Our journey home was uneventful and traveling at night turned out to be a fabulous idea. We were able to stop for dinner and then most of the kids fell asleep.
Until next year Marco Island. Thanks for the sunny days, water logged kids, lazy strolls on the sandy beach, shell collecting competitions, long bike rides, sand castles, and time spent as a family. We have come to love this beach and all the memories it holds for us.
