First Day of School (2014-2015)

Monday August 4th was our first day of homeschooling for the 2014-2015 school year.
Our high school boys will start on Wednesday.

We started our year with a back to school breakfast.

Last night, the women in our small group got together for a time of prayer for our sweet children this year.  I am so thankful to know that when I encounter difficult days or days worthy of shouting with praise, my children will be covered in prayer this school year.

I have so many prayers for my children this year, but the prayer that is closest to my heart is that they love God with all their heart.  I pray for each of them to develop and grow their relationship with God.  I pray they know and feel His love each day.  I pray they understand the idea that what God knows about them is infinitely more important than what others think about them.

As their Mom and their teacher, I am praying through these scriptures for myself.  God has called me to this important task.  When God calls, he equips.  On those hard days when I wonder why, I want to remember that God will give me all the strength, patience, self-control, and wisdom I need.

Vision-Proverbs 29:18
If people can not see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. (Message)

Wisdom- James 1:5
If you don't know what you are doing, pray to the Father.  He loves to help. (Message)
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who give generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (NIV)

Self-Control-Proverbs 25:28
A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out. (Message)

A Kind Heart-Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Against such things there is no law. (NIV)

Patience- Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (NIV)
